My First Dart Editor Bug
Every now and then I add commands like ‘cd ~/dev/webdungeon’ to the end of my bash config files, as I tend to want to be a particular directory for continuous stretches of time. And so I did this today, promptly forgot about it, and started up the Dart Editor (version 1.1.3). When I clicked pub build I got this weird error:
--- 26/02/2014 11:52:28 AM Running pub build ... --- Pub build failed, Error in pubspec.yaml: Could not find a file named "pubspec.yaml" in "/Users/serge/dev/webdungeon".
Because the path looked really similar to the path of a real dart editor project, I hunted around to see whether some eclipse configuration setting needed to be reset. No luck. I opened other projects and got the same error. Sigh, another day in the life of a developer. Eventually I remembered my bash config file change and fixed it.
This only happens in the editor – pub commands executed via command line work fine.
Being a good netizen, I managed to reproduce the error and logged my first bug report for the Dart Editor here – https://code.google.com/p/dart/issues/detail?id=17127
